With Lowes all these tasks are easy to completea and with a Lowes Money Off Coupon from We Are Coupons you can get all the items you need for less.  In Part two we look at a few more items on the Winter November Home Checklist.

Deep Clean Carpets

Between Now and the beginning of next year your carpets are going to be punished.  With Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and other parties and gatherings in between your carpets will not know what hit him.  Because of this, November is the best time of year to give your carpet a deep clean and even a steam clean.  There are two ways to do this. Firstly you can hire the machine and equipment you need and do it yourself. This is relatively cost effective, however it makes sense to call in the professionals if you have a lot of carpets that need cleaning. Professional carpet cleaners often do a fantastic job making carpets and rugs look like new for the festive season ahead.

Insulate

One of the most import tasks on  your November home checklist must be to insulate any exposed pipes in or around your home.  Exposed pipes can all to easily freeze along the side of your property, outside and even in your roof space. The most common reason for burst water pipes in winter is a lack of insulation.  Insulating pipes and anywhere else in your home straightforward and the small cost with little effort is worth it as a burst pipe can be a costly problem.

Fireplaces and Wood Burning Stoves

Come winter your fireplace and wood burning stove will get decidedly more use as the weather gets and stays colder. In November you need to check your fireplaces, heaths, chimneys and related fittings and gaskets.  An open fire or wood burning stove warms a home beautifully and they look amazing. However, if the fireplace or appliance is filling the room with smoke the atmosphere is no where near as nice.  Having your chimney swept and your wood burning stove serviced is a small price to play for chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

Clean and Stow your Lawnmower

The last cat of your lawn is a few weeks behind you now. If you have not already done so, November is when you need to clean your lawnmower thoroughly and stow it away for the winter. For gas powered machines it may be worthwhile having a service done and properly store the machine so it fires up first time when spring arrives once more. For electrically powered machines a good clean and maybe having the blades sharpened should suffice.
